The Legacy Premier Foundation is a global developmental non-profit organization committed to empowering underserved communities through human capital development and socio-economic empowerment. Over the years, the organization has worked closely with private institutions and government agencies in North America, Africa and the Middle East to create initiatives targeted towards enhancing social enterprise and encouraging wealth creation for social empowerment and economic development in these regions. Our signature programs include Rise, Restore Shine, an International Women’s Day Conference, African Techcellence Conference, Wealth Creation Clinic and Legacy Global Summit.

Advisory Board members
The Legacy Premier Foundation is administrated by a Board of Trustees, a close knit team of seasoned professionals and leading figures are responsible for advisory, policy management and overall strategy development.
Dr. Oluremi IlupejuDr. Oluremi Ilupeju is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, and a fellow of the American college of obstetricians and gynecologists, with offices in Greenbelt and Silver Spring Maryland.
He is affiliated with Washington Adventist hospital (now White Oak Medical Menter), where he had been a past chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology. He had also been affiliated with multiple other hospitals in the Washington metropolitan area as an attending physician, including Inova Alexandria hospital, Holy Cross Hospital, Doctors Community Hospital, Howard County General Hospital, Laurel Regional Hospital, and University of Maryland Capital Health Prince George's Hospital Center. He is an experienced medical practitioner with a demonstrated history of working in the healthcare industry in various capacities; skilled in gynecology (a “qualified expert” in the treatment of uterine Fibroids), team building, public speaking, business management, healthcare infrastructure development, teaching, mentoring, and social activism. Dr. Ilupeju has contributed immensely to healthcare advancement in Nigeria, evident through his trade and humanitarian missions to Osun, Ondo, Lagos and Oyo states. He belong to several civic, healthcare, and philanthropic organizations, including the American college of obstetricians and gynecologists, the alliance of Yoruba organizations, global medical organization, and the Osun indigenes organization where he is currently the chairman of the medical missions committee. Dr. Ilupeju received his bachelor's degree from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel University), a masters of science degree from Howard University, doctor of medicine degree from Howard University College of Medicine, and his training in obstetrics and gynecology from Howard University Hospital, and has been in practice for more than 25 years. |
Yolanda Bryson-DurantYolanda is a Senior Business Banker who comes with a wealth of knowledge and an extensive background in Leadership/ Management for more than 25 years. She is a trusted Business Advisor, known for her strong business savvy and leadership skill. She is the ultimate professional, entrepreneur, mentor, and leader to many. She has always had a passion to educate others seeking advice or financial consulting services. Yolanda has been instrumental in the success of acquisitions and several Small to middle size businesses including start- ups, most are now multi-million dollar businesses today.
Yolanda has received numerous awards for her leadership, and exceptional performance as a Commercial Banker. Yolanda continues to soar as a Business Banker, and a trusted financial advisor. Yolanda is very proud to sit on the board Legacy Premier Foundation, where she is dedicated to passing along the key characteristics for successful leadership. She has been recognized for her community involvement and her passion to give back. She’s been a leader within and outside of her company with such organizations as Boys & Girls club of Missouri, DC, MD, VA and Texas. Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, and Mt. Ennon M.B. Church Missionary Ministry. Yolanda is “God” fearing and loving wife to Donald Durant and the proud mother of two beautiful children Kenya and Isaiah, whom she loves to spend family time with as often as possible. Yolanda’s favorite pass time are cooking, fitness, and scrapbooking. Yolanda currently resides in Dallas Texas, and is originally from St. Louis; Missouri however, she spent 25 years in the Greater Washington area. Yolanda is one of ten siblings, and is the loving daughter of a Wilma whom is still enjoying life at 80 years old. Yolanda studied Business Management at Central College, but it is her love and passion for helping others that helped to shape her life and career. |
Shavon J. SmithMs. Smith is the principal of The SJS Law Firm, PLLC where she counsels business owners, start-ups, and entrepreneurs on a range of legal issues. She serves a diverse client base across multiple industry segments including franchisees, government contractors, professional service organizations, and food & beverage retailers just to name a few. Her clients call on her for guidance on commercial real estate lease and acquisitions, business financing, international transactions, compliance, and end-to-end contract support. Additionally, she represents her clients on a range of employment issues.
Ms. Smith lectures and speaks regularly to business owners on topics such as: Performing a Legal Check Up; Ensuring Your Business is Legally Protected & Prime for Growth; Working With An Attorney For Your Small Business and Growing Your Business With Teaming Arrangements. Ms. Smith is the author of the e-book, “The Small Business Owner’s Guide to Hiring an Attorney.” She is also an instructor with the Prince George’s Center for Entrepreneurial Development. She volunteers with various organizations to provide pro bono assistance to community entrepreneurs. She sits on the board of a southeast DC non-profit - Wheeler Creek Community Development Corporation – as an extension of these efforts. Shavon received her JD from Howard University School of Law and BA in Political Theory and International Relations from Michigan State Univesity. Shavon was selected as a “Super Lawyers Rising Star” for 2013 & 2015-2016. |
David W. Smith Sr.David W. Smith Sr. is an active father and parent plus an advocate and community leader. Mr. Smith works within the Prince George's County Government (Office of the County Executive, Office of Community Relations) plus advocates on behalf of the Prince George's County Public School System. Besides working with children, Mr. Smith works with parents to support parental involvement and engagement plus works with the fatherhood leadership team to support fathers and male involvement and engagement as well.
Mr. Smith is also the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Children's Rights Fund (www.childrensrightsfund.org) which he advocates for children's rights, parental rights, shared parenting & co-parenting and healthy family relationship. Mr. Smith assist and works with children and families who are going through divorce and separation to help children and parents maintain an ongoing relationship with each other after divorce and separation. Mr. Smith also works tirelessly in the Maryland Legislature and around the State of Maryland to help bring about reform that's supportive to children and families. Mr. Smith is also the Vice President of the 100 Fathers, Inc. (www.100fathers.org) which he advocates and educates on the importance of fatherhood and male involvement in the home, schools, community, etc. Mr. Smith is all about civil and social justice, equality and change. Mr. Smith is about bettering the lives of children and families plus strengthening the community. Mr. Smith is known as "The Warrior Advocate". |
John Strauss
John Strauss is a University of Maryland alumni with dual degrees in Administrative Management and Business Marketing. During his time at UMD’s Smith School of Business he was involved in a number of extracurricular activities including the Smith Start program, The Management and Organization Society, and the Good Vibe Tribe. His most notable achievement is a three-semester term as President of the Management and Organization Society (MOS), where he served until he graduated. As president, John designed and delegated tasks to executive board members, organized and led weekly meetings, and represented the organization to the Smith School’s professional board (SUSA). Additionally, during the winter semesters of his sophomore, junior, and senior years, John studied abroad in Spain, Japan, and Southeast Asia, respectively. His personal passions include nature, sustainability, and travel. Professionally, he hopes to work in the sustainability industry in order to combat human-exacerbated climate change. He is presently applying to graduate schools as well as dabbling in professional work opportunities. He currently lives in the rural town of Keedysville, Maryland.

Victory Yemi Oluwasegun, LPF Advisory Board Member
CIO of Jamborow and COO/co-founder of SpringPort Technologies
Mr. VictoryYemi Oluwasegun is an International businessman, serving today as the CIO of Jamborow and COO/co-founder of SpringPort Technologies. Whether in North America, Europe or Africa, this American-born Nigerian learned the value of cultural respect from both sides of the Atlantic. Not being content with the status-quo, he started to engage the community by volunteering and mentoring other youths in his neighborhood to write computer programs. Mr. Oluwasegun has attained degrees in computer information systems – Computer Networking, and Industry Certificates; CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Microsoft Certified Trainer. He has gone on to the work as a consultant for the World Bank, Microsoft, HP, Bell Atlantic (Verizon), NASA, Envision Healthcorp, Pediatric Associates, the Pentagon, the State Department and many more fortunes 500 companies. He has over 20+ years of experience in IT which includes managing product development, software and hardware engineering, and directing technical integration and operations. He has successfully managed organizations that have delivered technology solutions to the automotive, computer, engineering, manufacturing, financial services, retail industries, and all levels of Government. In 2008, Mr. Oluwasegun received a commendation letter from the US State Department – Overseas Embassy Operation as one of the Best Contractors to serve the State with distinction. All the while, continuing to a small business coach to some and a mentor to others; assisting in community initiatives like the Daniel Institute for Youths. Victory enjoys running, biking, CrossFit and acting. |
